Staff have the opportunity to attend the energy efficiency and fuel debt advice training. Other courses offered include an introduction to renewable energy. All courses advertised via the NCHA email system.

As part of the commitment to environmental services regular information goes out to staff on subjects such as "How to be a green gardener" or "Advice on recycling plastic carrier bags".
NCHA also has policies to:
- Ensure there are facilities to recycle plastic bottles in the main offices
- Recycle office paper/cardboard products
- Provide Fairtrade drinks in the offices and at training courses
NCHA is currently developing a Travel Plan, this will be used to promote a number of healthy, economical and environmentally smarter alternatives to driving to work.
Bike lockers have already been installed to encourage staff to cycle to work.
