The Board

The Association is governed by the NCHA Board which is made up of members from the local community.

 

It is NCHA’s objective to recruit and retain Board members who possess the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to help us set policy and monitor performance most effectively. We recruit new members who best balance the needs of the Board at that particular time. Board recruitment is carried out in accordance with our equal opportunities guidelines and the process is monitored throughout.

 

Every year the Board reviews the balance of it’s members in terms of equalities and diversity and the skills, knowledge and experience of its membership. We then try to fill any gaps by agreeing recruitment needs and priority training.

 

The current Board membership is as follows:-

Dr. Nigel Nice (Chairman)
Has been a member of the Board since 1990 and has been Chair since 2006. He is NHS Directs Regional Head of Service Development, Eastern Region.

Ann McCarthy (Vice-Chair)
Has been a Board member since 1995 and in 2006 became Vice - Chair of the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee. She is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Health at Nottingham Trent University.

Graham Carvell (Tenant)

NCHA’s first tenant board member, Graham lives in an NCHA property in Leicester and is Treasurer of the Tenants & Residents Consortium (TRC). Graham joined the board in July 2007.

Lucy Dadge
Joined the Board in 1998 and is a member of the Audit Committee. She is Head of Property Services at Nottingham City Hospital NHS Trust and is responsible for the maintenance and development of the Trusts property portfolio.

Diane Cotton
Has been a Board member since 2000. She works for the Government and Public Sector Practice, PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Tony Kay
Joined the Board in 1999. Tony works for the Lovell Partnerships Ltd as their Regeneration Manager. He was previously the Senior Development Manager at Castle Vale Housing Action Trust and brings over 25 years of housing related work experience to the Board.

Michael Bent
Has been a Board member since 2003. Mike has worked in the housing profession since 1985. His most recent experience was with the Housing Corporation where he was an Investment Manager for the East Midlands.

Chaudhari Shajait
Has been a Board member since 2003. He works for the Anti-Social Behaviour Team of Nottingham City Council.

Canon Eddie Neale
Has been a Board member previously of NCHA and rejoined the Board at the 2004 AGM.

Carolyn Isaaks
Has been a Board member previously and rejoined in Spring 2006 and is a member of the Audit Committee. She is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the Nottingham Business School.

Pradeep Khuti
Appointed to the Board in May 2006. Pradeep has commercial experience gained through his previous directorships and IT consultancy experience in the financial sector. At national level he represents the public through his work in disciplinary/tribunal hearings for The Council of the Inns of Court.
